Rock Against Racism
RoAR (Rock Against Racism) is a series of music concerts taking place around Scotland to raise awareness of racism in Scotland and help tackle racist
attitudes.
The first series of RoAR took place in 2006 with artists such as Embrace and Paolo Nutini. As a result the second series took place in 2008 with Hard-Fi,
Scouting For Girls, Amy McDonald and The Zutons. Now in 2009, RoAR is in its third series, kicking off with Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand!
Racist attitudes and behaviour, intentional or not, have a negative impact on Scotland, the people living here, and how we are viewed by the rest of the
world.
Everyone has a role to play in tackling racism by examining their own attitude and behaviour, recognizing and speaking out against racism and challenging
stereotypes to help make Scotland a place free from prejudice.
Rock against Racism is an opportunity to come together and celebrate our cultural diversity. A diverse range of communities and cultures make our country a
rich and vibrant place to live.
